BCHL Trade Tracker Update, Ginnetti Commits to Clarkson. Gelsinger Commits to Lake Superior State:

It's the day before the Canadian Junior Hockey League and BC Hockey League trade/roster deadline and there was just one move made. It saw Coquitlam send 18-year-old defenceman Jarell Pinchuk to the Canmore Eagles of the Alberta Junior Hockey League for future considerations.

There are a lot of teams talking trade, but there are so many teams still in the hunt for a playoff spot, and many with minimal cards available to sign players, that we may not see much action in the next 24 hours. As for the deadline itself, it arrives at 6 pm PST for transactions between teams in different leagues (i.e. BCHL to AJHL) and at 8 pm PST for moves made within the BCHL. The deadline for teams to have their roster completely set is 11:59 pm PST.

Langley Rivermen defenceman Cameron Ginnetti (98) has committed to Clarkson University, starting in the 2017-18 season. The Vancouver product is in his first full BCHL season with Langley and has 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in 32 games this year. He spent last season with the junior B Grandview Steelers (PJHL) and put up 18 points (seven goals, 11 assists) in 32 games.

---

Victoria forward Brayden Gelsinger (95) took to Twitter to announce his commitment to Lake Superior State University. He has 46 points (16 goals, 30 assists) in 39 games this season and 139 points (42 goals, 97 assists) in 150 career BCHL games. To be honest, I'm not sure how the Regina native is able to play NCAA hockey given that he's played 12 career Western Hockey League games (Kamloops, 2012-13).

Forward Matt Garbowsky (Powell River, 2009-11) has been reassigned to the Elmira Jackals (ECHL) by the Rochester Americans (AHL). In 15 games with the Amerks, the St. George, ON, product has one assist. He also has three points (one goal, two assists) in six games with the Jackals.

---

Defenceman Shayne Taker (Cowichan Capitals, 2008-10) was released from his professional try-out with the San Diego Gulls (AHL) and will return to the Utah Grizzlies (ECHL). He had no points in three games with Gulls after posting 11 points (two goals, nine assists) in 26 games with the Grizzlies.

---

Defenceman Steve McCarthy (Trail, 1996-97) signed a 25 game professional try-out contract with the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL). The Trail native has nine points (two goals, seven assists) in 30 appearances this season for the Kalamazoo Wings (ECHL).
