After first place is declared - if the other two teams are tied in round-robin points - they will play a tie-breaker game hosted by the higher round-robin seed on Monday, April 6th.
Three former BCHL players are identified among "Ten NCAA Hockey Talents to Watch" by TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button. Defensemen Mike Reilly (Penticton, 2011-12) and Joey Laleggia (Penticton, 2008-11) along with forward Matt Garbowsky (Powell River, 2009-11) are the three players featured who are BCHL grads. Forward Alexander MacMillan (Merritt, 2008-11) has signed a pro tryout contract with the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL. The 24-year-old from Calgary, AB, signed an amateur tryout with Utah of the ECHL two weeks ago and had two assists in five games with the Grizzlies. MacMillan wrapped up a four year NCAA career with American International College, posting 79 points (36 goals, 43 assists) in 118 games.
Goaltender Jeff Malcolm (Quesnel, 2007-09) has been reassigned to the ECHL's Greenville Road Warriors by Hartford of the AHL. Malcolm, who was recalled to Hartford on February 4th, is 6-4-0 in ten AHL appearances this year, with a 3.40 goals-against average and an .893 save percentage. In 25 ECHL games with the Road Warriors, he has a 15-9-1 record, a 2.54 GAA, a .920 save percentage and one shutout.
Forward Sahir Gill (Vernon, 2008-10) had his professional tryout with AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs expire and the 22-year-old from Terrace, BC will return to the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers. In 25 games with the Bulldogs, he had four points (two goals, two assists). He also played 12 games on a pro tryout with Wilkes-Barre Scranton in the AHL, posting three points (one goal, two assists). Gill also has 14 points (four goals, ten assists) in 15 games with the Nailers this season.
Forward Brett Lyon (Penticton AP, Westside, 2007-09) signed a pro tryout with Oklahoma City Barons of the AHL. Lyon, who's from Grand Forks, BC, had been playing with the ECHL's Brampton Beast. He had four points (two goals, two assists) in six games with the Beast since being acquired from the Allen Americans last month. With Allen, Lyon notched 11 points (four goals, seven assists) in 47 games.
