Three BCHL alumni are among the Top 10 Finalists for college hockey's biggest award. Forward Matt Garbowsky (Powell River, 2009-11) from RIT, defenseman Joey Laleggia (Penticton, 2009-11) from the University of Denver, and defenseman Mike Reilly (Penticton, 2011-12) from the University of Minnesota are all among the remaining ten players in the running for the Hobey Baker Award. Defenseman Kenney Morrison (Alberni Valley, 2010-11) signed with the Calgary Flames as a college free agent on Thursday. The Lloydminster, Alberta product had 15 points (five goals, ten assists) in 37 games this season, his third with Western Michigan University. The Flames release on the signing is here.

Forward Massimo Lamacchia (Victoria, Coquitlam, 2009-11) has signed an amateur try-out contract with the ECHL's Greenville Road Warriors. The 23-year-old from Vaughan, Ontario played the last four seasons with Brown University. He had 11 points (one goal, ten assists) in 31 games this season.

Defenseman Brandon Manning (Prince George, 2007-08) was loaned by the Philadelphia Flyers to Lehigh Valley of the AHL. The Prince George native has one assist in four games with the Flyers this season along with 42 points (ten goals, 32 assists) with the Phantoms.

Forward Denver Manderson (Penticton, 2007-10) has been recalled to the AHL by the Toronto Marlies from the Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL. The 2010 BCHL Interior MVP has one assist in six games with the Marlies this season. He also has 49 points (18 goals, 31 assists) in 51 games with Orlando.
