Trent Murdoch had a goal and two assists as Simon Fraser University beat Trinity Western University 6-4 to win the best-of-three BCIHL Semifinal series 2-0. With the win, SFU advances to the BCIHL Championship series and will play for the title for the seventh time in eight seasons. Jordan Liem made 16 saves in goal for SFU. Silas Matthys stopped 27 shots for TWU. Nick Sandor and Jono Ceci each chipped in a goal and an assists for Simon Fraser. SFU faces the winner of the other BCIHL Semifinal series between Selkirk College and the University of Victoria.

In the series between the Saints and Vikes, Selkirk College drew first blood with a 4-3 overtime win. Ryan Edwards paced Selkirk with two goals, including the winner 3:05 into extra time. Carson Willans had a goal and an assist for UVIC in the loss while Linden Horswill had two assists. Selkirk hosts Game Two on Saturday at 7 pm as the Saints look to eliminate the Vikes and play in the BCIHL Final for the third straight season. A UVIC win forces a deciding Game Three on Sunday.
