Alberni Valley and Victoria Clinch Fred Page Cup Playoff Spots, BCHL Alumni Update:

Tuesday Results
Alberni Valley def. Cowichan 5-3

Wednesday Games
Vernon at Penticton
Salmon Arm at Trail
Once again this season, the BCHL will go with a playoff format that sees best-of-seven playoff series in Rounds One (Division Semifinals) and Two (Division Finals), a three-team round robin in Round Three designed to eliminate one team, and then a best-of-seven Fred Page Cup final between the two remaining teams.

The top four teams from each division make the post-season, meaning that only four of the BCHL's 16 teams don't get in. As of Tuesday, Surrey, Cowichan, and Trail are eliminated while Penticton, Chilliwack, Langley, Prince George, Coquitlam, Powell River, Alberni Valley, Victoria and Nanaimo have locked up playoff spots. If the regular season ended Tuesday, these would be the Division Semifinal match-ups:

Goaltender Chris Rawlings (Salmon Arm, Powell River, Cowichan, 2005-09) was traded in the ECHL from the Elmira Jackals to the Idaho Steelheads on Tuesday. The North Delta, BC, native played one game with Elmira and allowed four goals on 17 shots in a game on February 4 vs. Florida. As a result, his numbers for the season aren't flattering - an 8.88 goals-against-average along with a .765 save percentage. Rawlings was signed by Evansville in August, but was released in October and didn't see any action this season until the game against the Everblades.

Defenseman Zach Josepher (Penticton, 2007-09) has been loaned by the Pensacola Ice Pilots of the Southern Professional Hockey League to the ECHL's Elmira Jackals. Josepher, who won a Fred Page Cup with the 2008 Vees, played eight games with Missouri in the ECHL this season and recorded two assists after being acquired from the Wichita Thunder. Josepher didn't play any games with Wichita, but did skate in two games with Pensacola, registering no points.

Forward Ken Magowan (Vernon, 1998-2000) left Lowen Frankfurt of the DEL2 to sign with Vienna of the Austrian Hockey League. Magowan had 17 points (nine goals, eight assists) in 17 games this season with Lowen, which plays in the second level of pro hockey in Germany. He spent last season with Adler Mannheim of the German Ice Hockey League.
