Canada West to Play for Fifth Place at WJAC, Connor and Kellen Jones Reassigned to ECHL:






 
BCHL players combined for three points, including two assists from Langley forward Marcus Vela, but it wasn't enough as Canada West fell 4-2 to Canada East on Wednesday at the World Junior A Challenge in Kindersley, Saskatchwan. Penticton's Dante Fabbro scored one of the goals in the defeat.
 
The loss means the best Canada West can finish is fifth and it'll go for it on Friday against Switzerland at 1:30 pm Pacific Time. The summary from Canada West's game vs. Canada East is here.

Despite not playing for a medal at the World Junior A Challenge, Hockey Canada posted an interesting story on its website today about Penticton Vees rookies Fabbro and Tyson Jost. You can check out the article here.






 
Forwards Connor and Kellen Jones (Vernon, 2006-10) were both reassigned to the Bakersfield Condors of the East Coast Hockey League from the Oklahoma City Thunder of the American Hockey League.

Connor has 25 points (nine goals, 16 assists) in 25 games with the Condors, while twin brother Kellen has 23 points (six goals, 17 assists) this season. Bakersfield posted about the Jones' reassignment on its website.

The Minnesota Wild assigned defenseman Colton Jobke (Penticton, 2008-09) to the Augsberger Panthers of the German Elite League.

Jobke, who's spent all of this season with Alaska of the ECHL, has four assists in 20 games. The news was posted on the Wild's official PR Twitter account, although it incorrectly mentioned that the 22-year-old is a forward.
