Nanaimo - Cowichan Valley Trade:

Details were made public today on a bit of an odd trade involving future considerations.

The Nanaimo Clippers acquired forward Taylor Grobowski (94) and goaltender Connor LaCouvee (94) from the Cowichan Valley Capitals in exchange for future considerations.

I know what you may be thinking - Didn't Grobowski play with the Clippers last season? How can they acquire him in a trade from the Capitals?

What we found out today with this trade is that after the season, Nanaimo dealt Grobowski to Cowichan as the future considerations from the December 28th trade that saw goaltender Derek Dun join the Clippers.

Since the Capitals had Grobowski's rights, they decided to move him back to Nanaimo along with LaCouvee.

Future Considerations

Here's the release from the Clippers website:

The Nanaimo Clippers have acquired 19 year old forward Taylor Grobowski and 19 year old goaltender Connor LaCouvee from the Cowichan Valley Capitals in exchange for future considerations.

Although Grobowski played for the Clippers during the 2012-2013, his playing rights had been acquired by Cowichan Valley as the future considerations in the trade for Derek Dun.

Connor played the 2012-2013 season with the Capitals but will now be a member of the Clippers.

Here's the release from the Caps website:

The Cowichan Capitals have transferred the playing rights of Connor LaCouvee to the Nanaimo Clippers for future considerations.

Connor played 20 games for the Capitals last season and finished with a 3.61 GAA and a .904 save percentage.

The Capitals would like to thank Connor for his contributions last season and wish him success as he continues his career in Nanaimo.
