Nanaimo-Aurora Trade:

I Tweeted about this deal back on Saturday, but haven't had a chance to post anything on the blog yet.

The Nanaimo Clippers are gearing up to be big players at the January 10th trade deadline, moving a 19-year-old player for future considerations.

Clippers Head Coach and GM Mike Vandekamp sent 19-year-old David Iacono to the Ontario Junior Hockey League's Aurora Tigers. What the move gives Vandekamp is roster space. As of today, Nanaimo has just 19 players on its roster, meaning that the Clippers can sign or trade for up to six players between now and January 10th.

Of course, they can only have 22 players on their roster at any given time, but Vandekamp definitely has given himself a number of options.

The trade isn't posted on either Nanaimo's or Aurora's website, but it is on the BCHL website under transactions.
