Dauphin-Brooks-Victoria Trade:

This trade wound up being a piece to a bigger deal, but it's basically a three way deal between the Victoria Grizzlies, Brooks Bandits of the AJHL and Dauphin Kings of the MJHL.

Earlier this summer, Dauphin made a trade with Cowichan Valley that saw D David London (93) end up in Manitoba. At that time, the Kings indicated that London likely wouldn't be skating for their team and they'd work on a deal back to the BCHL. That deal involved Brooks as they sent F Ryan Luiten (92) (himself a former BCHL player with Surrey and Trail) to Dauphin for London.

The Bandits then moved London to Victoria for Alberta native D Cody Bardock (93), who the Grizzlies acquired this off-season as the futures to the January 10th deal that saw F Jarryd Ten Vaanholt (91) join Prince George (it wouldn't be the last deal between the two clubs as the doozy is still to come).

The trade of Bardock to Brooks for London hasn't been published anywhere, but was confirmed to me by Grizzlies GM & Head Coach Bill Bestwick this evening.

To Victoria Grizzlies:
D David London (93)
To Brooks Bandits:
D Cody Bardock (93)
+ Future Considerations

To Dauphin Kings:
F Ryan Luiten (92)

Here's the release from the Kings website regarding their portion of the deal:

Kings add Top Forward

The Dauphin Kings are pleased to announce the acquisition of 20 year old forward, Ryan Luiten.  Luiten won an AJHL Championship last season with the Brooks Bandits.

The 6’1 188 pound center man was a dominating player for the Bandits scoring 23 goals and adding 27 assists for 50 pts while accumulating 65 penalty minutes.

Here is how the trade went down…..

The Kings sent 19 year old defenseman David London and futures to the Brooks Bandits for the dominating forward, Luiten.  London was the defenseman the Kings received in an earlier off season trade involving Cowichan Valley Capitals.

“Ryan will be a top player for us.  He sees the ice well and is a great passer.  He has a quick release and has the ability of getting open in tight areas.  He will compliment our forwards very well”, explains HC/GM Marlin Murray.

The Dauphin Kings would like to welcome Ryan to the Kings organization.
