Cents Trade Colton Sobchak to Alberni Valley:

(Cents forward Colton Sobchak)

The Cents have traded forward Colton Sobchak to Alberni Valley for future considerations. Here's the media release the team sent out this morning:

Merritt, BC - June 2, 2010

The Merritt Centennials announced today that they have traded forward Colton Sobchak (90) to Alberni Valley of the BCHL for future considerations.

Sobchak appeared in 55 games with the Cents last season, tallying 19 goals, 33 assists and 52 penalty minutes.

The Kelowna product was originally signed by Merritt a week into the 2008-09 season, and posted 11 goals, 18 assists and 60 penalty minutes in 55 games as a rookie. Prior to that, Sobchak skated with Sicamous of the KIJHL, winding up with 16 goals, 24 assists and 63 penalty minutes in his lone season in the Junior B circuit.

For further information, please contact Cents Head Coach and GM Luke Pierce at 250-378-3607.

The Merritt Centennials, proudly celebrating 37 years as the BCHL's longest continuously-run franchise, are a non-profit, community-owned junior 'A' hockey club run by a dedicated team of investors, directors and volunteers.

I'll have reaction from Luke Pierce on the blog later today.
