Now that the BCHL AGM is in the books, I had the chance to talk to Centennials Governor/Director of Hockey Operations Brian Barrett about some of the topics covered at the meetings.
Here are some of the highlights of the interview:
*The Cents open the 2010-11 season with back to back games in Trail on September 10th and 11th
*Merritt's first home game is Friday September 17th in the first half of a home and home series with Salmon Arm
*The Cents play seven of eight games in September away from the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena (in fact, the home opener is the only home game that month for the Cents)
*Merritt's final month of the season features six of nine games at home
*Hits to the head and hits from behind are expected to be called a lot tighter by officials this season and beyond

I also talked to Lucas Daoust about his commitment to attend Thompson Rivers University and play with the WolfPack next season.

Don't forget the Cents Strategic Plan Presentation is coming up on Wednesday night at 7 o'clock at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena. I hope to see a big crowd of Cents fans!
I've also heard of another Cents player receiving some more scholarship money, I'm digging into that and should have more on the radio and the blog tomorrow. Cents coach and GM Luke Pierce joins me tomorrow on the Q101 Morning Show to update the status of Cents assistant coach Maury Grant and to talk about Wednesday's Presentation. I'll post the interview later tomorrow here.
